Big Team Walk

Teamwork, wellbeing, and movement, three keys to success. This May, The Big Team Walk, proudly supporting SportsAid, gives you and your team the chance to connect, get active, and compete for victory.
This year, The Big Team Walk is walking for a purpose, supporting SportsAid to help rising athletes achieve their sporting dream. So, get ready to lace up your walking shoes, rally your colleagues and embark on a virtual team challenge that promises to foster team spirit and supercharge your mental and physical wellbeing. Tackle the full 300-mile route, starting at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham which hosted the 2022 Commonwealth Games all the way to Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow which will host the 2026 Commonwealth Games, next year.
Entrance fee of £25 per team of 5, with a suggested minimum fundraising of £100 for SportsAid.

With inbuilt activity tracking via GPS you are able to record your activities directly on your mobile phone and access your personalised dashboard to help keep you on track.
Already have a fitness tracker? Head to your connections page to connect directly to Strava, Fitbit or Garmin and watch your activities automatically link up on your Active Hub dashboard! If you use an alternative app such as Apple Watch, Peloton you can link these via Strava.

How does Big Team Walk work?
Between 1st - 31st May, the Big Team Walk challenges teams of 5 to work together to virtually cover 300 miles as quickly as possible. Each team member tracks their walks using a connected fitness tracker, contributing to the team’s total distance.
What activities are included?
For the Big Team Walk, only walking activities are permitted.
How do I track an activity?
You can download the myActivehub app, available on Apple and Google Play stores. You can also connect your own tracking device, such as Strava, Fitbit or Garmin.
Can I hide my activity map and location?
Yes. Once registered, sign into your Active Hub and visit your profile where you can change your privacy settings, including setting up privacy zones.
Do I need a full team?
No, you don’t need a full team to participate. However, with fewer members, the total distance each team member will need to cover will be greater.
Do I have to complete my activities with my team?
No, all activities can be done in your own time, to suit you and your personal schedule. However, if you can, we always encourage teams to get active together when possible.
Does it cost to enter?
Yes, there is a team entrance fee of £25 for 5 team places in The Big Team Walk. This is payable upon team creation and grants access to the event on the Big Team Events Active Hub and the event. The full £25 goes directly to SportsAid.
