How do you like to keep active? What activities do you enjoy the most?
I like to run, swim and play football. I enjoy running the most as I find it a good time to collect my thoughts.
Why do you feel it is important to lead a physically active lifestyle?
I want to be able to kick a football around with my son when he’s older and generally do all of the sports I enjoyed when I was younger with him.
How does the Active Hub platform support your physical movement?
Keeping tabs on the miles I’ve run as well as the activities colleagues have done inspires me to do more.
How has participating in Active Hub events helped increase your engagement with other colleagues?
Railway 200 as an example, was a good way to engage the workplace to compete with each other and getting active at the same time.
Has having the Active Hub in place via your employer enabled you to lead a more active lifestyle?
It’s not necessarily led me to a more active lifestyle, but it has certainly helped to keep me motivated.
What is your current active goal?
I recently ran a half marathon as training for events in the future, so I have been using the active hub challenges as motivation for this with the Railway 200 and Oktobermove as well as the Movember events. I have a planned 50k run in March all as training to the goal of completing a 50 mile event in May.
Using the Active Hub events kickstarted my training and has been useful to help me get the miles in to challenge myself.
