How do you like to keep active? What activities do you enjoy the most?
I keep active by having a PT session once a week, which focuses mainly on strength training with some circuit-based exercises thrown in. I really enjoy walking, so I try and walk as much as possible (weather permitting!) and I have also started to do some yoga.
Why do you feel it is important to lead a physically active lifestyle?
Health is often something that is massively taken for granted, and we know that being active promotes a healthy lifestyle. I also find that being active helps me boost my mood, especially if I have had a particularly stressful period at work.
How does the Active Hub platform support your physical movement?
The platform supports your physical movement by keeping you accountable. You know that when you are participating in a challenge you have to log your daily exercise so it really keeps you motivated and on track.
What event on the Active Hub have you enjoyed the most?
I’ve enjoyed them all, but the Walk to Weymouth event where you could see where you were on a map was particularly motivating!
How has participating in team events helped increase your engagement with other colleagues?
The team events are always good because not only do they help you to step up your activity levels, they also promote a bit of healthy competition between the teams. I didn’t think I was that competitive until the first team event I entered!
Has having the Active Hub in place via your employer enabled you to lead a more active lifestyle?
I think since engaging with Active Hub, I have participated in almost every challenge that has been available. That’s a LOT of activity that I might not otherwise have done so it has definitely helped!
What is your 2024 active goal?
To continue to increase my strength!
“Health is wealth” which is so true. You could have all the money in the world, but without your health, you have nothing. I always try and think of this even when I really don’t want to exercise or am feeling lazy!
