How do you like to keep active? What activities do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy hiking and rambling and working down my allotment. I walk a mile and a half to work every morning which helps me feel set up for the day.
Why do you feel it is important to lead a physically active lifestyle?
I feel adding physical activity into our daily lifestyle is hugely important for our wellbeing. Self-care should be a priority for all of us especially when its comes down to our mental health. Whatever form of physical activity we can try to achieve each day greatly benefits us both physically and mentally.
How does the Active Hub platform support your physical movement?
Although I consider myself generally active, the active hub gives me that extra push I sometimes need to achieve goals and also gives me a reflection of the achievements I have made.
How has participating in Active Hub events helped increase your engagement with other colleagues?
I’ve met different colleagues in different departments through the active hub. This has helped me with my networking skills and enjoying having a common goal with my colleagues.
Has having the Active Hub in place via your employer enabled you to lead a more active lifestyle?
The active hub does give me motivation to become more active throughout the working day. It especially gives me a goal to leave my desk and go for a lunchtime walk.
What is your current active goal?
I have decided to take on a half marathon challenge which is being hosted in July.
Don’t think just do!
