How do you like to keep active? What activities do you enjoy the most?
I have recently started to keep active as my children love to be outdoors. I got a little trailer for my bike for my daughter who was 4 at the time and my son could ride his bike on his own as he is 9. We started cycling during the summer holidays and they loved it. I recently completed a 100 mile walk for a charity and Active Hub helped me achieve my goal by keeping track of my mileage.
Why do you feel it is important to lead a physically active lifestyle?
I feel it is important to be more active as it has helped with my mental health and like I previously said my kids love being outdoors, so it brings us closer together as a family.
How does the Active Hub platform support your physical movement?
Since joining the Active Hub back in June, it has absolutely given me an active lifestyle. I have lost weight by doing so and the challenges each month push me harder to complete my daily targets.
How has participating in Active Hub events helped increase your engagement with other colleagues?
I have recently got my colleagues to join so we can all keep being active together.
Has having the Active Hub in place via your employer enabled you to lead a more active lifestyle?
The Active Hub has kept me going as I can see other people on there doing it and I makes me want to push myself even further to achieve my daily goal.
What is your current active goal?
My current active goal is to walk at least 30-minutes a day as it does help with my mental health. I try to get out cycling with my kids on the weekends which is more than the 30-minute goal and it makes me feel good about myself. When completing my weekly total and seeing how I pass my daily total it gives me a little bit of a boost especially when I see the miles I do. I recently completed a hike up to Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons and that was all down to being more active and seeing all with the Active Hub.
